Magnetic Drive chemical Pump 115V / 230V 525 watts. The magnetic drive pump design consists of a cylindrical drive magnet attached to the motor shaft which rotates around a chemically resistant plastic separator housing. Inside this housing is a magnet completely encapsulated in chemical resistant plastic, and is fixed to the impeller. The impeller is free to rotate on a ceramic spindle supported at both ends. Thrust washers are utilized as wear bearings. The washers are held captive and do not revolve, to prevent wear on the shaft. Since this setup has a magnetic coupling, it eliminates leakage compared to pumps with conventional shaft seals.
While no pump should run dry, the TE5.5MDSC has a unique design which allows it limited dry run. See owners manual for details. designed for circulation of acids, alkalis, solvents, brine, plating solutions, sterile solutions, and other special fluids, for use in environments such as hospitals, chemical companies, photo labs, dry cleaning plants, car washes, machine shops, laboratories, manufacturing plants and print shops.
