The March 5C-MD is a submersible-only polypropylene magnetic drive pump (distinguished from the LC-5C-MD by its blue submersible-only motor, versus the LC's dual submersible/open-air design), delivering up to 14 GPM at heads to 26 feet (11 PSI) on a 115V single-phase hermetically sealed motor. Construction includes glass-filled polypropylene front and rear housings and impeller, Buna-N O-rings, and a ceramic shaft, thrust washers, and magnet. It comes with a 6-foot SJT line cord and plug. According to March, the most common applications for the 5C-MD are marine air conditioning systems and decorative fountains — its fully submersible design and sealless magnetic coupling make it well suited to continuous underwater operation without the leak risk of a mechanical shaft seal.
