Positive Displacement Pumps

These pumps are often thought of as high-pressure pumps. Their positive displacement of fluid and fixed volume are the result of the fluid being mechanically moved through their pump passage on a regular cycle. This means that regardless of the system they discharge into, the pressure and volume will remain constant. The power of the driving device and its speed, limit the volume and pressure.Positive Displacement pumps:Flow rates of GPD, CC/min to 100 GPM typically.Discharge pressures of a 1 to 1000 PSI.Low speed and fixed volume per cycle, they handle very viscid fluids well.Smaller than centrifugal pumps.Quiet, do not ad much heat to the fluid, suitable for shear sensitive fluids.Diaphragm pumps can easily pass solids, stringy and fibrous foreign matter. Are made in materials from CI to Titanium and PP, PVDF and PPS engineering resins.
