122 Duplex Pump Systems Control Panel Single Phase

SJE Rhombus 122 Duplex alternating pump systems control panel for single phase units with override. Designed to alternately control two 120, 208, or 240 VAC single phase pumps in water and sewage installations. The alternating action equalizes the pump wear. In addition to the alternating pump control, these systems provide override control should either pump fail. If an alarm condition occurs, an alarm switch activates the audio/visual alarm system. Common applications include pump chambers, lift stations, sump pump basins, and irrigation systems.

Another common approach to the problem is a Duplex pump arrangement with or without a alternator. Thought is a lot of the time 1 pump may be enough flow, so why run / cycle a bigger pump more often. Any and all mechanical items (pumps/motors) fail or have a problem (prime, debris) and if that happens 1 pump is not going to do its job. Duplex avoids these issues. Then if you add a duplex alternator control starter you get the best of all worlds. 1 pump (alternating) will start and try to handle the flow. If it can not keep up OR has a problem the second pump kicks in. Exercises each pump in a alternating fashion for long life. Fulfills the need to have a branch motor control switch / circuit (NEC). Last but not least the cost may be less due the smaller single phase motor.
