Premium Series Diaphragm Pump
Riverside Pumps’ rugged and reliable diaphragm pumps, often called “mudhogs”, are built to handle heavy mud and sludge thicker than any centrifugal pump can manage. Designed for tough jobs, they can also run dry without damage, making them ideal for seepage control.
The Riverside DP2 and DP3 Premium Series Diaphragm Pumps are known for their dependable, durable construction and easy serviceability, proven through decades of reliable use. Key features include:
- One-piece x-profile pump rod for strength and longevity
- Superior fibercore synthetic rubber diaphragm for enhanced durability
- Rubber diaphragm construction (instead of TPE) for longer life and resistance to tearing – Riverside is the only mud pump manufacturer still using a true rubber diaphragm
The DP2 is compact and lightweight, making it the preferred choice of many utility contractors for seepage control.

What is a diaphragm pump? Diaphragm pumps are positive displacement pumps. They pump aspecific volume for each pump cycle. Diaphragm pumps move fluidsmore slowly than centrifugal pumps, but can handle mud andlarger amounts of solids including abrasive materials. They also tolerateair being drawn into the pump, and can be run dry withoutdamage. Diaphragm pumps are widely used on construction sitesto control seepage in excavations, and for pumping septic systemsand operating well point systems
