Sprinkler or irrigation pumps generate higher pressure at moderate flows compared to straight centrifugals. Water pumps made in cast iron, stainless, and plastic.
Sprinkler pumps are self priming, require a suction strainer to keep debris out and are made for outdoors. Sometimes they are also used for fire protection.
