The term sanitary NSF is often confused or mis-used. It means different levels of cleanliness or cleanability to different people. Sometimes referred to as FDA approved or complaint and 3A approved.

NSF water pump is certified by NSF International to verify that its components are safe, clean, and do not leach harmful contaminants into the liquid passing through them.

NSF/ANSI 61: The most common standard for drinking water. It guarantees that the pump materials are safe for human potable water systems.
