Mud pumps are a type of Diaphragm pump or positive displacement. The diaphragm moves up and down at a slow rate on a connecting rod. The diaphragm is made of rubber or thermoplastic elastomer. Ranging in sizes from 1.5"-3". They are portable, self priming and can run dry.
Mud pumps like the name implies are good for pumping slurries, muck and various solids. Often used for septic, portable toilets, honey wagon, dredge, and contractor dewatering.
