DEF Diesel Exhaust Fluid Pump

Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is a solution, injected into the exhaust stream, consisting of high purity urea (typically crystalline) dissolved and suspended within de-ionised water. DEF is a non-hazardous solution that is clear and colorless. It has a slight smell of ammonia, similar to some home cleaning agents. DEF is used in by Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology to remove harmful NOx emissions from diesel engines.

DEF Fluid purity is critical and contamination of as little as +/-.08 percent will prevent DEF from meeting mandated specifications. Per ISO standards, acceptable transfer and storage materials include stainless steel, titanium, and several additive-free plastics.
